Our Selection Process

GWA accepts nominations from organizations and individuals.

Criteria for selection:

• Must be deceased 10 years
• Must be native to or clearly identified with Georgia
• Must have made exceptional contributions in her field of endeavor
• Must inspire others to make use of their talents

Nominations close October 1 for consideration for the following year award.

A Board of Selections reviews all nominations:

• Zero to three women inducted each year
• Board decisions are final
